THE SUPPLY CHAIN
- WHERE DOES APICS FIT?
April 2007
The presentation will examine the supply chain
from the practitioner’s perspective and will discuss the new roles and
responsibilities of the supply managers, the new expanded definitions of the old
terms that we all have used for years but now mean so much more, and the new
level of expectation that companies have on the supply chain to reduce cost.
With the new roles and responsibilities have come redistribution of traditional
responsibilities, new reporting lines and new jobs descriptions developed.
Confusion has followed where clear communication and vision was insufficient and
what was promised to be a road to improved efficiencies and effectiveness has
not materialized as promised in all cases.
Join us as we look at
the basic ingredients of the Supply Chain Process, what key role APICS plays and
why it is critical to the success of any company that those who are part of the
Material Process of those companies, understand and buy into the Supply Chain
Philosophy.
